Senior Project Accountant
Location: Norwell, MA (Hybrid – 4 days onsite, 1 day remote)
Compensation: $105-120k
Position Overview
A growing organization is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to support project accounting, billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable operations. This role will partner closely with project managers and finance leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely client billing, and effective cash flow management.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in construction accounting, hands-on experience with Procore, and the confidence to proactively address billing issues and keep projects moving forward.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage project accounting activities, including client billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash applications.
• Prepare and oversee AIA billing, payment applications, lien waivers, and other project-related documentation and monitor billing schedules
• Partner with project managers to review budgets, track change orders, and identify necessary financial adjustments.
• Review and process subcontractor and vendor invoices, ensuring proper approvals and compliance with company requirements.
• Assist with work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, project forecasts, and month-end financial activities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry.
• Procore experience is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with construction billing, AIA contracts, payment applications, and subcontractor invoicing.
• Familiarity with Sage 300 or similar construction accounting software is a plus.
